BYUSA: Our Goal
As I was researching the candidates for the upcoming election I decided to visit their websites. Of course I saw all kinds of lame "initiatives" that candidates will champion, but Amanda and Steele Kizerian really impressed me with how professional they were going to be. Here's a picture to show you what I mean
BYUSA: Our Goal
Our main goal today is to make you laugh. Perhaps you laugh because you remember BYUSA elections of years past (disqualified for staying in a girls' apartment too late, disqualified for printing too many flyers, etc.) Or perhaps you laugh because this reminds you of someone you know. Or maybe you laugh because you think it's ridiculous we spent so much time on this video. So keep on laughing.
Our second goal is to change the system. BYUSA is not a student government, but a service organization. So why do we have elections to determine the president of this organization? In the end you get a new BYUSA president who won't be able to fulfil his/her campaign promises. So our suggestion is to do away with the election process. Please show your support for our goal by refusing to vote in this years election. In the end we'll count up how many people vote and how many don't vote. My prediction is that a majority of the student body actually doesn't care enough to even log on and click a button.
